Strengthening Our Star: Telling the OES Story in a Changing World

The General Grand Chapter Public Relations Committee is pleased to announce a new series of Worldwide OES Round Tables focused on helping members, chapters, and jurisdictions strengthen how we share the story of the Order of the Eastern Star.

These round tables are designed for members involved in public relations, marketing, membership growth, websites, social media, newsletters, community engagement, and other efforts that help promote OES. Each session will provide practical guidance, shared discussion, and tools that jurisdictions can use in ways that best fit their own needs.

All sessions will be held by Zoom from:

4:00–6:00 PM Mountain Time

Registration information and additional details will be shared soon.

Sharing the OES Story on Social Media: October 3, 2026

What to post, when to post, and how to build connection
Social media should be more than a bulletin board. It should help people see that OES is active, welcoming, service-oriented, and connected to our communities. This round table will focus on how chapters and jurisdictions can use social media more effectively to tell the OES story. Topics will include public pages versus private groups, what types of content are most useful, writing stronger captions, using photos and short videos, developing a simple posting rhythm, and creating content that builds awareness, connection, and membership interest. Participants will also explore how today’s digital platforms work differently. Some spaces, such as private groups, are helpful for internal communication but less useful for public discovery. Other platforms, such as YouTube, public websites, and professional platforms like LinkedIn, can help create a more open and searchable public footprint. We will discuss how OES can use social media not only to communicate with current members, but also to help future members, communities, search engines, and AI-powered tools better understand our story.

Making the OES Story Findable: December 5, 2026

Websites, Search, AI, and Digital Visibility
The way people search for information is changing quickly. Websites are no longer just online brochures; they help search engines, AI tools, and prospective members understand who we are and how to connect with us. This round table will focus on website content, search visibility, and emerging concepts such as Answer Engine Optimization and Generative Engine Optimization. Topics will include what every OES website should clearly answer, how to write helpful public-facing content, why current information matters, and how websites can better support membership inquiries and public understanding. Participants will explore how chapters and jurisdictions can strengthen their digital presence by making information clear, accurate, current, and easy to find. We will also discuss how websites, search engines, AI-generated answers, social platforms, and public content work together to shape first impressions of OES in a changing digital world. This round table will focus on website content, search engine visibility, and emerging concepts such as Answer Engine Optimization and Generative Engine Optimization. Topics will include what every OES website should clearly answer, how to write helpful public-facing content, why current information matters, and how websites can better support membership inquiries and public understanding.
